In the middle of the 30-ies there was perhaps no fighter which would be as famous in the aviation circles as I-16 (TsKB-12), constructed by the crew headed by N.N. Polikarpov. By its appearance and aircraft performance I-16 differed greatly from the majority of its predecessors: the minimal sizes, the barrel-type thick fuselage, the small wing of the square together with the belly section of 14,54 sq.m and the head holder of the pilot's cabin coming to the vertical empennage. One of the most mass modifications of I-16 was the type 5. Its armament consisted of two mashine-guns ShKAS in the centre wing section, and the maximal speed ran up to 454 km/h. The baptism of fire I-16 got in 1936, in the sky of Spain. In total there were directed 455 fighters of the types 5 and 10. In the air fights I-16 had complete superiority over the fighters of the putshists "Heinkel-51" and "Fiat SR-32". This model reproduces I-16 as of the period of hostility in Spain. Among the peculiarities of the model one can mention the rich detailed drafting, the inner interior; the landing gears are worked out. Besides in this model the author gives very detailed and clear assembly drawings, what in its turn will make the as-sembly of it much easier.
